The 4 Steps to Eliminating Hunger & Poverty

The International Fund for Agricultural Development, IFAD released the new Rural Poverty Report today.

You can download it here.

The Rural Poverty Report outlines the 4 steps to eliminating hunger and poverty

  • Help rural people better manage their risks
  • Sustainably increase agricultural production
  • Facilitate equitable access to new and changing marketplaces, by viewing smallholder farms as businesses
  • Encourage the growth of non-farm rural jobs

IIRR is working to address all of these issues. Currently we offer Community Managed Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation programs, we teach Bio-Intensive Agricultural practices and support Farmer Field Schools, We have just completed a series of publications and workshops on Value Chains and linking entreprenuers to markets as well as building business skills and offering adult literacy and livelihood programs alongside our children’s education program.
